The closest airports are Los Angeles International (LAX) and Bob Hope Airport in Burbank (BUR)
If you're flying from JFK, Boston, or San Francisco we highly recommend flying Virgin America. Their rates are inexpensive and the flights are luxurious.
Otherwise Southwest will probably be your best bet. They have a lot of direct flights into LAX and their rates are reasonable as well. They do offer a group rate—with a lot of stipulations. At least 10 passengers must be traveling on the same itinerary and you have to call to book the reservation instead of doing it online. Plus everything has to go on one credit card. Trust me—not for the faint of heart. Quoted discount was 5%.
Accommodations
Good Nite Inn:
Nice motel just through the canyon—the closest to the wedding location. Two floors, all of the rooms open to the outside. There's a pool in the courtyard. There are two types of rooms: one queen sized bed at $55/night and two queen sized beds at $67/night. To book, call 818-880-6000 Eubanks/Grogg Wedding Confirmation Number: 94687. Hilton Garden Inn:
Located in downtown Calabasas within walking distance of the Calabasas Commons that features a movie theater and a number of restaurants and fast food and a Barnes and Noble. A nice hotel with a pool, exercise room, and hot breakfast daily. Choose a king or queen size bed. The group rate is $109/night. Hilton Homewood Suites:
Located a bit further north on the 101 off of Kanan. Gorgeous and brand new, all the rooms are suites that include a kitchen, small table, living room with a pull-out sofa and the bed in a separate room. On site pool, exercise room, business center, complimentary breakfast, and a putting green(?!) You can choose a queen, king, or two queens—which means you can fit 6 people in one room. All three have blocks of rooms set aside for our wedding from July 31st through August 3rd. If you want to make a shorter trip, that's fine too, you can still get the group rate.
As for staying in Malibu, the Malibu Motel is reasonable and swanky with hardwood floors and zen furnishings. They weren't able to give us a group rate because they were already booked for the weekend, but you might be able to squeeze in if someone cancels. Their number is 310-456-6169
